A temporary issue like the breakdown, which appears to be the case, seems the most likely and they have been working with creditors and new funders to stay afloat, it would be very unwise for the directors to let the shares trade and open themselves up to all sorts of problems before all these negotiations are complete.

Whilst they are taking a long time I'd expect that means they are making progress, totally hypothetical with no knowledge of what's going on, they could have an offer that is dependent on the plant being fixed and producing, who knows!

You're most probably correct but it might follow that the creditors are requiring a gold content assessment of the mined material,
assays of representative samples. Just throwing it out there as I really don't know much.
