Companies are required to reveal market sensitive information as soon as they know about it....if anything like what you suggest wad actually the case they'd be in breach of the corporations act.

I, too, am frustrated by the lack of updates but I keep thinking to myself would I prefer company staff to be spending their time ( and shareholder $$$) drafting and releasing updates or would I prefer them to focus on bigger issues.

Once they know market sensitive information we'll be informed.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see an update sooner rather than later :)
