It's says "appears to", it's still a coronavirus and affect the lung, hence RAP was able to detect this COVID-19 strain as well. Also ResAppDx detect virus and bacteria causing URTI so it's highly likely the coronavirus has a vocal biomarker signature of these upper airway which RAP's algorithm is detecting as well.
