Hi Martin, I had a speculate on this issue on another thread a few days back.
There's risk in releasing the Australian results first because it creates a benchmark of expectation. If the US results come in close to the Australian results then the US results will get a big yawn from the market. And if they come in lower, even if they're within the margins for statistical significance, the market is going to smash us. There aren't many ways that an early release of the Australian results can come out well.
Also, I noted that the Australian studies are on-going so there's clearly no need to hurry with the results. It's not as if they'll be stale when they get released.
