Analysts said the deal terms are good for Sirius shareholders, but less so for Independence Group holders.

"In the short term it is not so good for Independence Group shareholders, but longer term it makes sense," said GMP Securities analyst Duncan Hughes. "Independence Group had to do something - the pipeline was not so impressive, so it is [now] positioned for long term growth."
