"BHP has put a hell of a lot of money into us, and at a hell of a lot higher price per share (multiples) than what our sp is at now.
BHP could have taken us out with their morning tea money if they wanted to, and they didn't. BHP had better insight view of all our plans and designs, (once they started investing with us), than many of us wouldn't even be able to dream about, and yet they decided to walk and stopped spending money in this project."
................... Their interest AFAIK was solely related to their Mozambique mineral sands project which was taken from them by the Mozambique government for their inaction. Once that fell over there was no further interest. The nature of bureaucratic company structures. ............................... "Could BHP being sold a hot potato by a good car salesman? I really don't know mate. You tell me. " ............................... Do you think that you were sold a hot potato by a good salesman? The point I was trying to make was that we do have something real happening at Newcastle despite "extended time frames"lololol as opposed to complete and utter shysters, think ADY(got caught there), JRV(same), CVI( didn't get scammed on that one) etc. OK, it hasn't been a quick trip(to say the least) but we are getting somewhere. There is real equipment going into a real plant that does something real.I wouldn't mind betting that one reason for the current delay is that MT didn't want to go straight to Kronos for the dosh(it should have been easy as they were the ones requesting the plant upgrade)as it would strengthen their hand too much, instead brought another player into the mix. ............................................ "All I know is, that, based solely on your own comments, there are some real good ones out there in the sharemarket, and it all depends on us to be able to sort out the wheat from the chaff." ............................................ Too true. There's an odds thing with speccies. That's why they are cheap. Uncertainty. My POV is that the uncertainty is reducing, the market is still very wary of long lead times, reasoning that there's still plenty of time to get in, therefore no sense of urgency to buy. Let's see how quickly it will move when start of commissioning is officially announced and the market realises that there may not be a forever to buy cheap shares in this co. ...........................................
"You may now say that BHP haven't sold out as yet, and that is true. But, now consider these options:
1) If they were to sell out of their holdings, who would want to buy their shares off them?
2) And if they were to find someone, how much would they be receiving for those shares?
3) What would the sp price gets to, if they were to dump them on market?? GOD HELP US ALL.!!!! Because our shares would only become usable as a toilet ingredient.
4) Considering all of the above, they might have realised that it was just a total waste of time and money to continue pouring more of it in this project, but that it was better for them to sit and wait on the sidelines, and let someone else spending their own money just in case. And, IF AND WHEN something was to come out of it, they could then take us all out for a song and with their morning tea money." .................................... BHP wouldn't give a rat's about their holding. As you say it's just tea money. MT told me that BHP have already gotten great value from their stake as APG did all the testwork for the Mozambique project for 5mil. He also said that he was told by a BHP manager that to do the same thing in-house would have cost $50 mil. They are very bureaucratic so everything takes a long time. A BHP manager probably cares as little about the company money as a middling public servant, as long as they themselves look good. ................................. "Good luck mate. AGM is upon us soon again. Just leave the sweets and the beer alone this time around, and simply concentrate on your own investement and what return it gave to you over these many years. If you are going to attend to it, that is." ......................................
Good luck to you too. We all deserve it for our patience. Many here deserve much more than me as they have been steadfast for so long.
cheers
