Ron is very active. And he's here rather than being retired because of the opportunity (his words).
He won't be around forever though, just enough time to get the company moving forward with momentum and the right person to steer the ship long term in place. In a sense, knowing that the effort you're required to put in is "temporary" would help you gather up the energy needed to attack the task.
