Is buying shares the only thing a director does? How many boards have you been on?

I think that's a terribly unfair assessment, based on a deep misunderstanding of what a director's role in a company. You have no idea what they have contributed in terms of risk management, strategic direction, capital allocation, and all the other decisions that the board makes. You also have no idea of their personal circumstances in terms of wealth and investment portfolio. Yet you believe you're in a position to judge them as either not very smart, or lacking commitment.

Unless you're prepared to explain how you have the authority to make this judgement?
