Frustrating for Chris et al.
It had sounded like they thought he would sooner or later return, so this comes as a bit of a surprise.
It was also surprising that there was nothing in the announcement about wishing Hamish a speedy recovery, nor any suggestion that if he gets well he would be welcomed back. In fact, it seemed to lack any empathy for him at all, which causes me to wonder.
I get a strong sense that we don't know the full story with Hamish, so I will avoid making any pejorative comments.
