It is very common that founders underperform after selling the company and staying as C-level mngmnt. Why?

-Because they are used to calling all the shots and not to fit in to a larger strategy.
-might not be fit to taket the company to next level even though they have done a great job up to this level
- might have lost their passion, feeling done with their mission
-etc

it was iCandy who included the terms that theese founders had to commit to stay on-board for three years to ensure a smooth transition/merge. I am pretty sure there were no guarantees for them to stay for three years, should the underperform. Now they let them go after 2 years. That is a decision taken by ICandy, most likely because they feel they can perform better with replaced management
