YourDudliness,
I like Ferguson, as he has been the front man to the media, never wavering of believing AVZ as to have
'a very bullish project', visiting Manono with BNBT and its Chairman, being regularly seen negotiating with the big players(Airguide pics) and wanting AVZ to be fast tracked to mining! Funny how the naysayers never tell you any of this
Also, importantly, his reputation is untarnished!, and he is trustworthy!
He could work very well with the other big gun at AVZ's disposal, Rhett Brans who has vast experience in project development, management of feasibility studies and the building of mineral treatment plants, with experience in the DRC!
This was a big indicator that AVZ was serious in advancing the project!
Whether he would like to take the helm is another question, but I think Nigel has a good relationship with the Chinese, which gives him the nod!
Some have even suggested ML. The positive with ML is his links with the Chinese, and his bullishness and devotion to AVZ. The question then is whether he could be focused enough being involved with Airguide. I would not be worried about him not being a miner/geologist because he has plenty of experience in the crew that could guide that, especially with the announcement that:
'The Company advises that it is now looking to expand the Board......and enhance the experienced skillsets already available to us.' go HERE
I'm probably less inclined to go with an outsider, because of the good work Nigel/ML have already done and their familiarity and good relationship with the Chinese. This has taken time to develop, and to gain the trust of the Chinese. A new player would have to start all over again! If it was a new player, he would have to have an exceptional record of bringing projects to mining, be very driven, and singularly focused, experience in the DRC, and that any share deal should have escrow periods, eg. post mine operational, post first shipment etc. after the Klaus debacle!
All in all I feel that we have the personnel there, and AVZ will bring some extra experience, as stated in the announcement(
'enhance the experienced skillsets already available to us') to bring a very dynamic team to the table to fast track what Nigel Ferguson, Managing Director of AVZ, described as a
'VERY STRONG PROJECT!' .
AIMO
Cheers M8
