"Resignation" is simply the process recongnised by ASIC through which a person ceases to be a director. The reason he has ceased to be a director (resigning) is that he is retiring. It's pretty simple really.
Unless notified otherwise we can assume that ME continues to hold his shares and consequently has a strong interest in FAR's long term success. He just won't be the one pulling the strings.
