Small business (especially in the retail sector) are struggling in Australia, the ABS in 2015 indicates that less than 50% of small business (whether independent or franchise) manage to survive their first 3 years and it's not getting better 3 years later, as not everyone is suited to running them.
So as part of RFG's model restructure, they need to focus on the profitable one, they've already closed 400-500 outlets this year with the total now down to around 2000 outlets, but likely need to close another 200 by mid year.
