The fact that he is staying another 3 months suggests that he is simply leaving to take a better job, probably paying more money. As for a valuation on Watershed as it stands, that is a tough one, but surely worth in excess of $10M one would think. After all, a lot of time and hard work has gone into defining the resource so far. I suspect the company would prefer some kind of joint venture arrangement, though, with the new partner putting up a lot of the development finance.
