We had a similar issue (lack of updates from management) over at KNL a couple of years ago and one of our Top 20 shareholders started a thread titled ‘Village Square Meeting’. That poster/shareholder asked fellow shareholders to share their questions (publicly) and their shareholding (privately) and then they took a collated list of questions from dissatisfied shareholders to the BoD. Whilst we didn’t get all of the answers we were hoping for, it seemed to changed the company’s tendency to update the market and its shareholders. Sometimes the management of companies don’t realise how the lack of updates to the market and shareholders can create a very negative sentiment and belief that nothing is happening, or worse, that things aren’t going as planned. Perhaps it’s time that a major VRC shareholder organised a Village Square Meeting of their own.
