People leave positions for a myriad of reasons.

Contracts end and greener pastures can be on offer.

Family circumstances can change within a blink of an eye.

Health can take a significant decline and force a modification to employability.

Performance indicators may not have been met sufficiently for a contract renewal.

Business restructure can make some positions change in nature and stretch people beyond their capabilities.

There can be personality conflicts that may make positions untenable.

People can simply be tired of a position and could have been looking for a change for some time.

An opportunity may have presented itself that is too good to let pass by, etc.

I wouldn't read too much into a resignation.

Some resignations are designed to not make a fuss and allow people to exit a role with dignity and career still in tact, rather than being fired.
