Thanks for the info. I also hadn't realised the Darwin helium plant was facing going offline when Darwin LNG' feedstock changes from Bayu Undan to Barossa. I guess Barossa has no helium content. Since the whole shebang is all owned by Santos it may explain their interest in Dukas, as well as why they've been (frustratingly for CTP holders) in no hurry to follow it up - there is no need for it until BU finishes up which is still a few years away.

Google tells me BU's helium content is only 0.1% so it wouldn't take much flow (at 6% helium) from the Amadeus to replace it. But it would require basically cutting off the NGP to reverse the flow from the Amadeus to Darwin (Blacktip's owners may have something to say about that), or bypassing it and doubling the line from the NGP to Darwin to allow bidirectional flow. Normally pipeline gas is quite fungible and you can just substitute it through backhaul, but not in this case where you actually need to physically get the helium atoms to Darwin.

All that considered a new helium plant in Alice might be the cheaper option. Assuming at least one of these wells is successful.
