Hi (columbia)
If they are in talks with BHPB,why would they say they are looking to truck the iron ore 340kls to Port Headland when they have no agreement with any one to off load, stock pile and ship the ore at Port Headland?
NWIOA port infrastructure is not going to be available until about 2013.
So who are they talking to,to export the iron ore?
Who has facilities to export at Port Headland?
As far as I am aware only FMG,BHP and RIO.
If that is the case, why are they talking about trucking the iron ore if they are looking to do a deal with one of them at the port?
Trucking is around 16 cents per tonne per kl as against 8-10ths of one cent by rail.
That would surely negate the high grade portion of the resource in cash return to an ordinary resource.
Would they get a permit to truck 24 hours per day on the Great Northern Highway?
The resource is still better then what they say.
The bedded/detritals they are saying are in the low 50s Fe would be beneficiated to a higher grade Fe.
Why are they not saying that?
Beneficiating those lower grade ores would then also raise the average %Fe resource figure.
Regards
Westcott.
