Was a good presentation from Neil Biddle today at the conference, i was sat a couple of tables away from him at the lunch and wish i could have had a beer and chat with him! Here's what i took from it all, most of it all we already know but there was some little hints and messages -
Alpha
1B revenue forecast for 10 year mine life, 25 millions tons approx of torbanite to be mined in total
Low operating and capital expenses = big margins
Highest grade torbanite in the world, and little torbanite actually left now being mined or to be mined globally
Intense interest in Alpha from local bitumen users
Activated carbon will be high value sales and also lots of local interest, as well as Bitumen all activated carbon is imported into Australia also
The light crude can be mixed with the bitumen for a spray on bitumen on roads which has had a lot of interest from local companies
Australian standard status should be granted in 3 months for the bitumen and activated carbon
Georgina Basin
Started with "you'll be hearing a lot about this"
Outstanding drilling results
Aero survey results blew them away
2 remaining land tennant applications on hold should be granted in July without any fuss
Bullseye anomalies will be explored more and drilled in August
Ended with "you're going to hear a lot about this next year"...and noted how excited he and the 'boffins' are about what they are finding, and expect to find based on the results they are getting, noted all the evidence points to the long held view of major discoveries to come in the belt being explored from Tennent Creek to Mount Isa.
Came away feeling very positive with where we are now and what is to come, Neil seemed very relaxed about it all and bullish at the same time, Alpha seems to sound a cash cow gimme to me which will have big margins when operational.
Georgina Basin one which is going to need patience till it's all drilled and mapped out in more detail, but Neil's language all points to big news to come from there that is just needing to be confirmed with more detailed analysis and drilling of the area.
If Georgina Basin can be retained as a part of Greenvale and no demerger happens along with the high margins from Alpha, then the potential share price of these 2 operations running together under Greenvale is really quite incredible in my opinion, the relatively low number of shares on offer will only make the price climb more.
The 2 guys in the lift out with me were both talking about Greenvale despite the others who had presented, they sounded impressed.
Also of note, the salmon lunch and chocolate desert were very tasty...we were all fed very well!
Cheers,
Sye
