climate change is irrelevant for those coal assets. There is not a method to commercially create large volumes of steel without coking coal. These are not thermal assets.
albeit I wouldn’t be surprised due to activist super pension funds pushing coal exit since most people can’t tell the difference between thermal or coke coal due to ignorance that the coke business is spun off into a single entity on the ASX. No one on the ASX has the market cap/balance sheet to acquire these assets.
