It seems to me that nearly all the comments in this thread relate to CCP's consumer loan business, whether you call them payday loans or not. However, the majority of CCP's business is debt purchase and debt collection services, primarily focusing on the acquisition of purchased debt ledgers (PDLs) comprised of distressed consumer debt from Australian and New Zealand banks, finance companies, and telecommunication companies. NOTE......PDL's are NOT payday loans !!
I had a look at the half year financial statements as at 31 Dec 2017 and it appears that consumer loans generate only 17% of gross profit. So, I think we should get the business into perspective.
I can't remember where I read it but in some survey in the last 12 months, CCP were rated the highest ethically of all the companies in their line of business.
