Yes they have said that they won't manufacture more than needed to meet demand.
I reckon closer to 300 batteries in stock assuming they value at manufacturing cost rather than sell price. Some of these may be destined for announced projects (South Africa Telco, Optus, Knox child care centres, Fiji) but that doesn't come to several hundred batteries.
Seems there's something up that we don't know and RFX can't or won't tell us. China is one thing that could fall into that category.
