I don't think Paul deserves any kind of position of responsibility and control over NOR at this stage. Keep him on only so that there can be an orderly handover to a new CEO. As I said, Paul still has a vested interest in the company surviving since he has his own money invested in it, but he no longer deserves the cushy salary to go along with it, or the ability to continue to make poor business decisions.
If Paul was to be chairman, he'd still be in a position to control the direction of NOR and I am simply not convinced that would be wise. The less control, the better.
The problem that remains, of course, is finding someone good enough to take over with the meagre money that NOR has left.
