Whilst there are a number of factors that keep me comfortable with BUD, there is one in particular. Most people who know him or have followed BUD have a healthy respect for DM. This guy is smart and has a very sizable personal interest in making Buddy a sustainable success. If the product was a dog or just wasn’t working in the Caribbean, do you think he would quickly move to launch it all over the world rather than try and identify/fix/consolidate? I don’t think so but if you were in the opposite camp and had a few doubts about his competency, I could accept that perhaps you see the expansion plans as some sort of desperate short term strategy hoping for success to magically appear. You would have to have a lot more doubts, and in fact believe that he was an absolute goose, to do what he has done and employ a couple of Digicel people bearing in mind that in the above scenario, these guys already know it’s a dud!
