For individuals, it can include up to 10 years jail time and the greater of $495,000 or three times the profit gained or loss avoided.For companies, the maximum penalty is the greater of $4.95 million, three times the profit gained or loss avoided, or 10% of the body corporate’s annual turnover in the relevant period.

I'd assume this would go to the regulator unfortunately?

Depends who the big boys are, some are just nominee accounts for individuals I think? Sometimes they might try and cut an individual deal on the side and leave everyone else to fend for themselves (more for them that way).
