I don't think you get it. 4 million oppies at 0.1 cent costs $4000 plus brokerage. Dude has six weeks for some improvement in sentiment. Sells at 0.2 cents - doubles money, effectively. No improvement in sentiment - writes it off.
S/he is under no obligation to convert the options to shares. The story just ends on 31st December.
