I love how the dividend pause was of course “an incomplete proposal” right up until the night the board authorised it in a flashbulb moment that somehow couldn’t have been signalled to anyone in advance.
That it was highly likely happening, that the numbers were undoubtedly being run on it and multiple business units & staff & external advisors were probably working on it (and the capital structure and the balance sheet) for weeks beforehand, all while the share price was mysteriously run up. But no, suddenly: bang, it’s decided one night, and the reason for the immediate share price decline the next morning: oh just a correction back to where it should’ve been before bots and speculators artificially raised it
Gotta love the ridiculous ineffectiveness of ASX listing rules and the farce of continuous disclosure more generally.
