Some years ago I saw how a insto built a large position in a company without sending the stock into overdrive. I dont think they had the algorithic programs of today, but I found it interesting how they had kept the stock in the accumulation range by selling as much and as often as necessary.
I believe now that software exists to do the same thing.
Its far from a level playing field these day.
