QM says they have 240,000 retail customers ranging from the offices as far as China and the Philippines.
They currently get all their gold from the Perth mint.
They want Bau gold because they have the Grand Mufiti as a consultant to their board who can approve Malaysian gold if and when it happens as "Sharia Gold" and also will be able to sell it to the Middle East. They say Sharia gold earns a 10% premium to Australian Perth Mint Gold.
This is why the Sarawak state Government wants to build a gold refinery next door to the proposed mine so it will also be a tourist attraction for Sharia believers to see on "tour" the mining operations (of BEZ) and then taken to the proposed gold refinery for a tour and then buy either "sharia gold bullion" will have a certificate from the Grand Mufti and sharia gold jewelry. That is the plan outline by Dato and the Sarawak State Government.
This is why QM, Sarawak and BEZ are so keen to get into gold production.
