Also, this chat is bupkis ... KNL has excellent flake and purity - refer to their 2 binding offtakes (which include expandable graphite applications) and imminent 3rd with Sojitz for spherical battery grade graphite.
There expandable graphite is superior to MNS.
KNL, SYR and MNS all have exceptional purity. The only difference is MNS took a unique approach to their flotation methods (designed in conjunction with their Chinese partners). They successfully reached ultra-high purity from flotation instead of chemicals.
BUT HERE IS THE KICKER - MNS expects a basket price of $2,125 across all their -300 micron graphite (highlighted blue). SYR and KNL bankable feasibility studies are much more conservative because they intend to pass this extra cost on downstream (presumably to end-users or if they build their own respective battery manufacturing plants).
SYR basket price is $1,000/ tonne and KNL is a modest $580, $840, $850 and $1400 from amorphous to large flake sizes. MNS expects $2,125 for around 142k tonnes of flake per year for battery manufacture.
This further illustrates my risk factor for MNS. I believe it could happen but do the banks?!
Everyone over at MNS constantly states that Elon, the automotive industry as a whole, and near all lithium-ion graphite producers will jump on the super green, clean, MNS, chemical-free wunderflake.... but will they? After all, are they NOT businesses? We all love the green story - but don't kid yourselves, this is the business world ... all the matters are the $$$ (for now, sadly).
GLTAH, Cheers, rocko ... also please feel consider my last point, this is INDUSTRY, economics and the bottom-line. KNL has removed so much risk, has exceptional product, has western offtakes, is entering the battery market, is grossly undervalued compared to it's peers and carries significantly less risk given it's planned modest production levels ...
