The reason for going into pre-open was to allow the market time to read the announcement (at 3,45pm) of the company response to the ASX Price query. This is normal practice and lasts 20 minutes. The time elapsed while the 10 minutes after market auction was still active, hence more trades took place and were reported in the final figures at 4.10pm. A great finish for the day!
