Economics 101 shows how demand/supply curves work , Think I will refer to my memories on that class rather than your absolute statement
Interestingly at a masters level in Resource economics your statement aligns with what the profs were teaching in the 1990s , I flunked that class , but the same professors are still teaching their complex Leonard and Van Long optimum control economics models , while I am happily retired preferring to believe Alfred Marshall simple supply demand theory from the 1890s.
