Yas - a classic case of ask stupid questions, and get obvious answers. To summarize here is what transpired:

ASX: "Hey we are all on holiday down at the beach, but here is a missive from our most junior member of staff who came down in the last shower of rain:

2. Why do share prices go up and down?
3. Haven't bothered reading any notifications about options dates and/or any nearby explorers' activities but please refresh our memory.
4. Please confirm MEI is complying with Listing Rule 3.1

Follow up questions:
a) any samples going to the lab? If so when were they sent?
b) are MEI expecting any results from the lab? And if so when?
c) when did the years drilling finish and when do they go to the lab? i.e. how long is a piece of string question.
d) what arrangements does MEI have to maintain the confidentiality of results?

And the resonse of the company can be summarized below:

1. Because of options, recent work, investor sentiment, MEI specific news being absorbed by people previously on holidays, people needing to sell shares to buy their kids bike etc

a) no we don't just drill holes and not send them to the lab for s%^ts and giggles - end sarcasm
b) about 2-4 weeks after submitting the samples - depending on how busy the lab is and how many days holidays there are.
c) finished drilling near Xmas and samples go to the lab once field crews back at work and not sooner.
d) secure email link/webtreive login to results from ALS which is standard around the world at most major labs and with all ASX listed companies only the competent preson can get assay results......
