Unfortunately, mum and dads who are sold on the story of whatever they are mining will.
It's easy to get caught up in the hype of the next big resource when the story is spun well. Looking at the history of the directors is often overlooked.
They will then collect director fees for a few years until the company goes under putting in the absolute bare minimum to keep the company scraping by for as long as possible.
As Rick said, lock them up so they can't do this. Scum of the earth. (in my opinion)
