Check with ASIC or equivalent register. So if they are approved by the regulator, this is the first check that they are legitimate.
if the regulator gets it wrong well this is what happens. That is not to say the OT Capital and the likes were always in breach of their licenses, but it goes to show that maybe ASIC needs more robust auditing of companies they issue licenses too.
