Hopefully, the TDL/TBG ~45% owned Chinese IVD company gets approval and gets things to market; and TDL/TBG get the suspension removed.
However, if you read the 15 page supposed 'explanatory' reply to ASX by TDL/TBG, the wording of the apparent CE approval of the Chinese company product is such that it looks like they read what was required for CE approval, decided that they fulfilled it and 'awarded' it to themselves.
At face value that sounds dodgy. However, if you look up how such approval is obtained there is a category where this is allowed, but that is for where a product has minimal risk. If this is what they have done, it is obvious that a detection kit for a pandemic virus is not minimal risk. Indeed, if you read the European directive on this (it appears to be nicely summarized on Wikipedia, with an article that cites reputable EU docs) an IVD test kit is not eligible for self-assessment / self awarding of a CE mark.
