On a first timer Slogger? Have you seen what these batteries cost to produce? What they sell for? Any sort of commercial case whatsoever? I haven’t. What customers do they have to warrant a multi billion dollar factory? Do we even know that Magnis can successfully manufacture them? It’s a legitimate question given they haven’t done so before.

If the regular folk like us on HotCopper can’t answer the above very simple questions what hope does anyone else have?

So you’re telling me the government is going to roll the dice to build a penny co’s first factory, with no proven commercials? The billion $+ price tag is just to get the place up, what about operating and keeping it running? Who foots the bill for that if in 12 months time the operation isn’t viable?

There’s just no way the government comes to the party if they’ve truly done their research and want the most out of their dollars in my opinion. You’re not clawing back votes if the huge investment falls on its face.
