they have done their DD on the project - they have seen the figures and the assumptions and obviously believe that the project has a benefit and a satisfactory rate of return.
i don't believe that the DD info (confidential no doubt) has been released so what they have, how they have progressed through the DD situation etc is an unknown but they would not be progressing it if the figures do not stack up.
therefore your comments are unjustified given that you do not possess the confidential info that the decision is being based on. no doubt they would have had their outside accounting consultants pouring through the DD info and it appears to come out satisfactory.
as a result i can't disregard that but you appear to be doing just that.
other than what you have stated what other basis do you come to your conclusions other than disregarding what the DD process would have involved (especially when talking about big $'s).
