Kirk GilmourAlthough the company’s boss, professional poker player and serial corporate entrepreneur Fred Bart, said in February 2013 that planning for the fabrication of these speakers was “well advanced”, the company has routinely pushed back the time frame to demonstrate the chips to investors.A febrile excitement recently grew because of the company’s promise in May that it would demonstrate the long-awaited speakers by June 30.But to the surprise of exactly no one, Bart told the ASX – at 8.30am on June 30 – that it was now going to demonstrate completely new, but dramatically improved, chips at an undefined point in the near future, although “a recent outbreak of the COVID-19 Indian variant in Israel” could complicate matters.
When issued a please explain by the ASX, Bart told the exchange that “for sake of accuracy, the company was able to perform demonstrations of the technologies well before June 30, 2021”. Private demonstrations, that is.
Bart said the next demonstration will be in May, at next year’s AGM, depending on “travel restrictions between Australia, Israel and connecting countries”.One small step for man, one giant leap of faith for credulous shareholders.
