I love a good conspiracy as well but something I always do with a stock is use the HC advanced search function and just type the stock code into the keyword bar - you will find that no daytrader has mentioned PYC since the 26th of July.
I just reckon they were part of the last drive and now have moved on. That means quiet times for a while but also good that they are cleared from the offered side. The next run might find an easy path to mid 5s before that chunky order that has been sitting there causes a few deep breaths. If that goes - who knows . . . .
