Last patent i was involved in went straight through with no issues or referrals about its novelty. There is no such thing as patent tennis. Either something is new and novel or is not. The HZR process is clearly not novel. I was informed here that what is impinging is prior art that HZR owns and this initial patent has an expiration date (16 to 20 years country dependent). This statement from the asx means that when the protection of the initial patent runs out this technology is publicly available. Don't kid yourselves that it means something else. If the company is a market leader this will have no effect. It just means this latest patent will not be passed. You can't re-patent your own patent without some novelty.
