If anyone bothered to actually look into this over the past two years they would have noticed that the average ARPU in the U.S fell on average 3-7% but average total revenue of the carriers actually rose 3-15%.
Theirs been an increase in competition and mild change in the way they run their buisness's but bar a few outliers everyone's actually making more than they were 5-6 years ago.
For the record this new "Global App Economy" rubbish is even more outlandish.
To suggest carriers are owed some tariff on all transactions through all apps from companies like banks, facebook and Netflix because they sell (or on sell) the mobile connection being used in the digital space is paramount to claiming CityLink should get a percentage of all BMW sales.
Must be a systematic mental grown when he pulls that one out at the conference junket.
