Taxation shouldn't drive your investment decisions, I learnt that the hard way.
It's better to pay tax on a gain than not make a gain at all.
Aside from that if you can't avoid paying tax , delay paying it for as long as possible.
At the end of the day however paying a significant amount of tax is a sign of a successful investor if you follow the above rules.
