as another poster said, it's all well and good to provide that to the AFR, so why not an official ASX response?
Is it possible that any response to the AFR is not "binding"? Could Cettire turn around and say "no, that's not what we said"? Whereas if it was an ASX response it has more substantial weighting.
Just my thoughts. If you have the time to respond to the AFR, you have the time to appease shareholders and calm the nerves after a 20% drop in share price. That sounds the more professional thing to do.
