no they didn't want to get everyone obsessing over a single transaction in what is a complex business operation that differs between many countries and where the package is coming from. The more important point (in my view) is that they confirmed their net profit/loss from the duties charged MINUS what they are actually charged by customs is negligible - has been both positive and negative in the past. essentially, there are transactions where a customer will be charged duties and then the customs authority charges cettire more than they charged the customer. cettire loses out in this situation.

so why would cettire want to get bogged down explaining a single transaction out of millions when they can say on the record they are paying their duties as required by customs, and the net amount (either way) is negligible to their profit line?
