Would you say that about the shorters who revealed theranos blatantly lying to the market or enrons fraudelantly cooking the books. I mean you probably doesn't understand this but if you look up finacial literature on short sellers they actually help with the efficency of the markets, infact in 2008 when they banned short selling in america it was found to prolong the price discovery process.
to simplify for the lamens short sellers help with bringing information to the market, you being on the wrong side of that is your fault not theirs.
