I'm no accountant but this is from the AFR this morning:
"The bidders were smart to carve out the franking credits balance, which totals $823 million. These are worth about $3.60 a share to those shareholders able to offset the credits against tax already paid.
The addition of the credits makes the offer $91.60 a share, which is a 40 per cent premium to the price that prevailed before the offer was made."
