A transformative change may be what is required to discard any remaining old baggage. Imo any move will require Twiggy’s pre-agreed backing as he’s now almost at 20%, and iirc he has been pretty clear on Austal being a homegrown WA success story. Any foreign buyer will have to deftly manoeuvre this or face his stiff competitive bid to keep it local. Can only be good for holders in the medium term. I still think Rothwell called him in for support last year when seeing the vulnerability of the share price.
