Soph holders make money by loaning their shares to shorters, it’s part and parcel of the business, indeed if you’re looking for a responding sentiment it’s a reflection of their bullish confidence that down the road the loaned asset will be worth multiples of todays value, you sound new to this game so perhaps this market behaviour is lost on you?
