On the contrary, I think the early move to take operator status is a simple catalyst to resolve the FAR dispute with COP during this low cost phase of appraisal rather than let it drift unresolved into the more capital intensive development phase. WPL would be keen to remove threats to the development timeline before tying up billions of their capital.
